Live
Closet
A wardrobe that builds its inventory through everyday use
Open ClosetWhat inspired it
I own too many shoes and wear three of them. I've bought running shoes I already had. My wardrobe has a visibility gap, and I wanted to close it: fewer, faster decisions, and an honest picture of what I actually wear.
The central insight
The inventory builds itself. Each morning I snap a mirror photo; the app recognizes the pieces and logs what I wore. Planned becomes worn in about ten seconds.
What it does
- Inventory, capsules, and trip planning
- Photo check-ins that log what I wore
- Adding pieces by photo and scanning care labels
- A "do I already own this?" check
- Weekly planning and a chat assistant
Design decisions and milestones
- Described out loud, then seeded with my Montréal and New York planning notes
- A tap-through prototype in conversation, then the real app built in Lovable the same morning
- Live at closet.lynnthibault.com, private behind my login
- A small closed alpha for friends: invite codes, each person sees only their own closet
What I've learned
- Start from a real annoyance
- Use it the same day
- Sketch before you build
- Privacy first when friends join
